The Long Weekend! ทำกิจกรรมและทำกับข้าว

It was the Thai public holidays over the past weekend hence, the kids had a break from school since last Friday all the way till Monday. Jacinth and I conducted a series of activities and games over the weekend for the kids to earn points (translated into baht) within their groups, which will then be used to purchase ingredients to whip up a meal and a dessert - Budae Jigae (Korean Army Stew) and Milkshake/Smoothie/Parfait. Apart from having fun through the activities, we added an educational element to the games where it will require the kids to utilize some hard skills such as Mathematics and English. Specific soft skills such as strategizing and effective communication were also needed for them to succeed at certain games.

 Shortest Noodle Challenge!

 Du & Tii

 Jali & Linchee

Chi & Na! Such an innocent peck!

Our big girls - New & Maree

 Marisa & Pon

Lert & Ang, they were really afraid of kissing each other! HAHA

Syer & Bpor, these 2 were really sporting! PM me for exclusive videos of our boys taking on the challenge haha! ;)

You may wonder what's with all the watermelon seeds on their faces? Here's how the game goes... Each watermelon seed that they manage to spit out within the time frame of 2 minutes will earn them 5 baht :)

Little kids passing as many rubber bands as possible to the last person in the line. Each rubber band will earn them 5 baht.

English lesson. Where the kids learn the words to different objects they see on a daily basis, after which they had to match the words to the pictures which were hidden within the house :)

Darts throwing. Each person gets 3 throws and they are to add up the scores of their individual throws. If the final answer is wrong, the points will be half the original score they are supposed to receive.

The handicap challenge. Each person in the group will have a specific disability such as being blind, mute or having no limps. The group will have to throw the ball to every person in the team (no throwing to persons beside them) within 2 min to earn their points.

The older kids had it a bit differently from the little kids. Instead, they were rewarded with each word they spelled correctly.

Grocery shopping @ Big C!

Ended off the long weekend with delicious army stew and desserts of their choice!

Thank-you once again for your kind contribution. This activity would not have been possible without your generous contribution. We were glad to be able to let the kids experience a taste of foreign delicacies. Blessed tummies!

A thankful heart,
Elysia
