New Year 2018 Feast

With your generous contribution, we were able to enjoy a warm and splendid New Year's eve dinner with all the staff and children of CCO. We barbequed chicken meat, pork, meatballs, big salted fish, and had snacks, sweet drinks and coconuts (from our trees) at our very own ground. It cost 5000 baht in total. The staff and some of the kids were very efficient in setting up the place for our feast. Impressive

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed and bonded over the delightful feast. The staff set up the speakers and screen for a sing-off as well as a time of watching Karate Kid movie. One of my favourite movies of all time. Little Chi wanted to watch this movie because it involved Karate and Jackie Chan. Its a really good movie

We went to Makro with Boy (staff) and a few of the older children to get some snacks and drinks for the New Year's eve feast. Makro sells items in bulk, so it is cost saving to get stuff from Makro.

Some of the little girls gave an impromptu performance of a dance that they have been practicing in school for the upcoming Children's Day performance. They were so cute

We counted down and welcomed the new year with lanterns, sparkles and fireworks! Ended the night a little special that day by having a few children - Pon, Marisa and Chi, to bunk with us in our room. The girls were pretty tired so they K.O. in our room almost right away. It was fun staying up a little late with little Chi and hearing the girls (shhh, I won't say who) snore in their sleep. Haha!

Thank God for making a way for me to be here at CCO, welcoming the new year together this way. I recalled that last year we counted down to the new year together too but many of the kids K.O. before 12am. This time everyone stayed till 12am and beyond. Haha! Karate Kid was probably that good a movie to have successfully kept everyone awake all the way.

With so much joy,
Bella
